Founder & Executive Director
Peggy Shepard is the founder and executive director of WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as the co-founder and executive director of WE ACT for Environmental Justice. She in a nationally-recognized leader with a long history of successfully combining grassroots organizing, environmental advocacy, and environmental health community-based participatory research to advance environmental and climate justice in Northern Manhattan and beyond.
Deputy Director and General Counsel
Dr. Anhthu Hoang is a distinguished environmental justice leader who currently serves as the Deputy Director and General Counsel of WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as WE ACT for Environmental Justice. A former Acting Director of the EPA’s Office of External Civil Rights Compliance with extensive experience in environmental law and policy, she provides strategic leadership with a focus on environmental policy and health protection.
Chief of Staff
Karla Cordero is the Chief of Staff at WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as WE ACT for Environmental Justice. Having served in various capacities in New York City government, developing and implementing policies and programs serving underserved communities, she focuses on facilitating change management and strategic direction in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization while ensuring a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Political Director and Director of Civic Engagement & Strategy
Pamela Stewart-Martinez serves as the Political Director and Director of Civic Engagement & Strategy at WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote. Previously serving as the Director of Civic Engagement & Organizing at WE ACT for Environmental Justice, she focuses on building and implementing our voter and civic engagement campaigns through outreach, organizing, engagement, and education.
Senior Director of Operations & Finance
Evelyn Joseph serves as the Senior Director of Operations & Finance at WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as WE ACT for Environmental Justice. She manages the organization’s finances and oversees operations such as human resources, facilities, and organizational performance.
Director of Communications
Chris Dobens is the Director of Communications at WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as WE ACT for Environmental Justice. He brings nearly 40 years of experience in marketing and public relations to the role, having built brands and managed reputations for a wide variety of businesses both at agencies and in-house.
Communications Manager
Casey Parsons is the Communications Manager at WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as WE ACT for Environmental Justice. She has experience providing technical assistance, supporting movement building, and orchestrating ad campaigns.
Communications Associate
Jama Joseph is the Communications Associate at WE ACT 4 Change and WE ACT to Vote, as well as WE ACT for Environmental Justice. He provides support for media relations, social media management, and content creation.
